What kind of idiotic editor would authorize the abbreviation "P'ppines" for "Philippines"? I, for one, am both offended and appalled. It's bad enough (although, admittedly, understandable, what with all of the Iraq nonesuch) that this article didn't make it to the main CNN page, but did they really save that much space by taking out four measly letters? The dignity of this Pacific island nation is being taken away and replaced with a word that is pronounced in a fashion similar to "PEE-PEEnes", for Christ's sake. Wearers of Filofros and other Filipinos, band together with me in what will ultimately be a futile attempt to boycott CNN! This is an act of ridicule that no Filipino should stand for! With our powers combined, we can put an end to this discrimination! Fellow Filipinos, join me in my battle hymn!
